Butler VFD and FEMS to FCR-300, 89 year old with shortness of breath.
FPD Gasaway and Boyd to Service Road, chain cut, surveillance cameras
messed up, items missing. Deputy Elom to FCR-1171, complaint of loud
4-Wheelers. Oncor summoned to East 84, power pole down. Loose cattle,
FM-488. Teague Lady has sewer backing up in her tub on S. 9th,
City worker called.
TPD Reed to blocked driveway on Main. THDEMS to FM-1365, Lady having
anxiety attack. One man threatens another with pistol, FCR-411, Sunday
evening. Several of us to that area, man located in car. Word is he’s
armed. A standoff ensues while man is non-cooperative. Finally get him
convinced, peaceably, he is arrested. Pistol in car floor. A no-no for
him in his status as a felon. Carried to Jail. Cusses everybody and
their dog. Drunk, mouthy, insulting. I commend Jailers Charlie Jordan
and Jerilyn Price, as well as Deputies Elom, Diana Willis, Robert
Willis, Wade Harrison, Travis Robertson and FPD Boyd for their patience.
JP Shirley Mays and Dispatcher Retha Little got an ear full, too.

Deputy Robertson to/from Ft. Bend County, prisoner transport. Man
arrested by Deputy Shipley, intentionally repeatedly bumping another’s
car, while traveling on Old 75. One owed money to the other. Not an
approved method for collection! Three dogs tear up Lady’s garden and
fence on Pecan, TPD Solly to same. Dog’s owner says her dogs not guilty
as accused! WPD Sykora to report of woman assaulted by another.
DPS Jenkins arrests DWI on US-84 with drunk friend. DPS Crais gets
another, a minor, IH-45, same offense. TPD James Monks with another,
also DWI, from 3rd and Cypress. FPD Boyd and DPS Jenkins in
with yet more….another DWI and drunk passengers, US-84 in Fairfield.
Couple on Big Lake going through a Divorce. All major stuff named by
Judge during Divorce Trial as to who gets what….Apparently forgot to
mention the electric blanket. Both had an end, pulling in opposite
directions. Deputy Rachel to same, he contacted both party’s attorneys.
Let the attorneys, with the Judge, make the call on who gets it! After
all of these years, I think I now fully understand the story behind the
old adage "splitting the sheets!"
Two year old wandered away from house on FCR-1220, Dep. John Aultman
to same. Deputies Aultman and Hendrix to theft of welder and tools on
West 84. The thief cut through the fences of one business to gain access
to another. Man placed in Jail by WPD Chief Adam Irwinski on Warrant for
Injury to the Elderly.
Three elderly gentlemen were playing golf on a windy March day. Each
had a hearing aid. One remarked to another, "Windy, isn’t it?" "No"
replied the second, "it’s Thursday." The third man spoke up next with
"So am I, let’s grab some bottled water."
Suspicious party reported on man’s property on Bradley Street. DPS
Warren arrests man with baggie of Marijuana in glove box, Mile 198. FPD
Green arrests man with defective headlamp, two City Warrants. FEMS and
Butler VFD to man with belly ache, FCR-257. Says he’s hurting so bad he
can’t even stand. TPD Noll to N. 4th, dispute over baby. Man
calls to report the gate is locked at his rent house on Main and a dog
tangled up in a chain, need help, FPD Green to same. FPD Warren,
Deputies Elom and Harrison, DPS Warren and TPD Noll to kids fighting at
City Park in Fairfield.
Deputy Travis Robertson to/from Limestone County and Bartlett State
Jail, prisoner transport. WPD Irwinski to Government Apts., Grandchild
just snatched by Grandma, Mama just wants the Baby back. FPD Green and
Warren arrest DWI, north bound in the south bound lane of IH-45. Oops!
That is a dangerous lifestyle. Good thing it was at 3AM in the morning,
with light traffic. THDEMS to Tyler, anxiety attack. FEMS to pain in
left arm, FCR-536. Deputy Robert Willis to Family Troubles, FCR-1250.
Deputy Robert Elom herding loose cows, Mile 196. Donie VFD to pasture
fire, S.FM-80. FPD Green to local eatery, missing money. Deputy Elom
arrests man sitting in middle of road, FCR-441, Probation Warrant.
Streetman and Southern Oaks VFD’s to drilling rig in Navarro County, man
fell 20 feet, both legs believed broken. TPD Chief Cox arrests Lady at
her residence on Theft Warrant. Deputy Shipley arrests man on Assault
Warrant. Deputy Diana Willis to new house, mortar mixer stolen.
DPS Adams to accident, roll-over, FM-833. FEMS to FCR-231, Lady
choking. Troubles between two men at St. Elmo Store, Dep. Taylor to
same, but complainant did not want to press charges. Lady in labor,
water broke, FCR-851, headed to Hospital in Mexia. FPD Foree to DQ, Lady
there wants food and overnight lodging. THDEMS and Teague VFD to blood
sugar problems on S. 11th. Limb on power lines, S. 10th.
Fairfield VFD to Service Road, transformer popping like lightning,
power outage results. Deputy Clayton Aldrich brings confused Lady to
Jail Lobby, awaiting arrival of relatives. FPD Mason to Brookshire
Bros., missing wallet. TxDOT to FM-27, tree down on road. Minor accident
on parking lot leads to trouble between two women, Moody Street, FPD
Foree and Mason to same. Man turns self in at Jail on Theft Warrant to
Dep. Thomas Hendrix.
Lady wanders away from Nursing Home, located. Loose donkey, FM-833.
THDEMS to trailer park, breathing troubles. Electric hot water heater
blows up in residence at Butler, local Firemen check it over for safety.
Fairfield VFD to FCR-536, checking air quality in house.
Regret to report that TPD Solly was struck by a baseball at Teague
High on ankle, THDEMS to same. At this writing, unsure of injury,
hopefully none. Similar call from S. 8th, 4 year old hit in
face by another baseball. Deputy Robert Willis deals with unwelcome
visitor on FCR-351. Also to Dew, customer with no money to pay for food.
DPS Crais jails Lady DWI, driving bad, Mile 198. FPD Bass to Live Oak,
Father/Daughter Troubles. TPD Noll to N. 4th, man reports
another just pulled a pistol on him and discharged it. Were it me, that
would lead to an immediate alteration of friendship status!
Complaint comes in to Dispatch that driver on FCR-841 driving "retardedly."
Don’t believe I’ve ever heard that usage before but Deputy House made
every effort to locate him. FEMS, Dew VFD and DPS to Mile 191, truck
tipped over in median. TxDOT to US-84, ash spilled from rail car. Deputy
House to report of Lady on FCR-1221 doing donuts in another’s front
yard.
Streetman Homecoming on Saturday with Dep. Robert Elom doing a little
friendly policing. FEMS to Jail, Inmate with chest pains, previous
history of heart troubles. Young Lady calls, boyfriend just assaulted
her, took her cell phone, is enroute to Sheriff’s Office, wants charges
filed….We’re still waiting, she never showed. 911 call from Limestone
County, Oil worker having stroke…..Mexia EMS headed his way.
DPS Crais arrests passenger in car, Child-Support Warrant. Deputy
Shipley to FCR-196 assisting Southern Oaks VFD and THDEMS with combative
patient. FPD Kindon assists Lady get handicapped husband into truck. TPD
Reed to report of starving horse tied to tree, Teague. WPD Irwinski to
Landlord/Renter Troubles on San Saba. FPD Bass pinch-hitting for
Deputies tied up on another, boyfriend/girlfriend troubles, FCR-231.
To Cayuga on Saturday for wife Darnelle’s annual Family Reunion. Lots
of tall tales, good food and laughter. It is always good to visit with
the bunch, sample their deviled eggs, pecan pies, ham, sausage, Tater
Salad and such. But the stories are the best part….The time Grandpa
Jackson had that red mule….Another night, out with the dogs, and the
biggest Bobcat you’d ever imagine was in the top of an Ash tree…..Well,
your family has the same types of stories also, I know. It always makes
me proud of what our ancestors went through…..raising kids, putting in a
garden, planting a patch of cotton or corn, coming back from the war,
etc. A touch of yesteryear…..
Deputy Shipley to FCR-975, arrests man who had just assaulted his 6
months pregnant wife….Jail House Cornbread, now, instead of home-cooked!
Wortham Officers assisting Deputies with Warrant Service. A third party,
not wanted, starts running afoot, foot chase starts, subject arrested,
had managed to turn his pants pockets wrong side out while fleeing,
jailed by WPD Sykora. Another Officer, after the chase, had to be
carried to Mexia Hospital with medical problem. Original target of the
Warrant Arrest surrendered to Deputies Willis and Rachel on Narcotics
Warrant.
Deputies Harrison and Taylor to Teakwood, possible burglary in
progress….Nope, just two men hired to clean up the yard by owner. FPD
Warren to Forrest Drive, man reportedly just broke out wife’s car
windows with baseball bat and threatening her….Arrested on previously
existing traffic warrants in file. Man reports door at Cooper Farms
standing open and just anybody could come in and help themselves….Told
that this was intentional, buy what you want, throw what you owe in the
bucket. Deputy House to Cooper Farms, all appeared normal.
Deputy Shaw assisting FPD with short chase in residential area on
report of possible stolen vehicle. Deputies to residence in Fairfield,
when door opened, the odor of Marijuana very strong, one arrested.
Deputy Hendrix to weekend house burglarized, April Cove. Man turns self
in at Jail to serve time.
Big-time Rodeo in Fairfield on Friday and Saturday nights. Good
performances on each night with top-flight Rodeo Performers present. The
proceeds to go to Pleasant Hills Childrens Home so it was a very good
endeavor. This was promoted by Dodge and Bossier Country. Thanks to all
who made it a success.

FEMS to Wortham, Lady in severe pain, requests to go to Fairfield
Hospital. FPD Bass and Kindon arrest man at Trailer Park on four
outstanding City Warrants.
This column shorter than last several preceding. Have had many kind
compliments on our little mini-Texas History, just ended. My thanks to
all who enjoyed. I am not a very good historian nor writer, but just
felt that I wanted to share the tale.
