DAILY CONTACT WITH SENIOR ADULTS,
THE HOMEBOUND AND LATCH-KEY CHILDREN.

SheriffCare – Telephone System

Contacting an elderly person, homebound individual or latch-key child on a daily basis helps to assure their well being and gives them a feeling of security.

The SheriffCare telephone system eases the concern of friends and family who may find it difficult to maintain consistent, reliable contact.  Parents of a 9-year old child may want to make sure their son or daughter is home on time from school.  An 85-year old woman wants the independence of living alone with the security of being monitored.  The SheriffCare system brings a sense of comfort into the home of every SheriffCare user.

The FREESTONE COUNTY SHERIFF’S OFFICE AT NO COST TO THE USER, utilizes it’s Dispatch System to monitor and store SheriffCare users names, numbers and call times.  When the person answers, the system delivers a short recorded message.  It will ask you to press one on your telephone keypad. By doing so this will let the system know that everything is okay.

The success of the system depends on informing as many potential SheriffCare users about the daily calling service.  Targeted SheriffCare users can include the elderly, latch-key children, handicapped and homebound individuals.

There is NO CHARGE to the SheriffCare user for this service, as well as NO COST to the county.  This system was purchased through the Freestone County Reserves Fund.

Each SheriffCare user must complete an interview form. For more information you can contact the Freestone County Sheriff’s Office.
